How does it work

Miniphysionizer®

The EMDA® system consists of the electrical generator, therapeutic electrode and dispersive electrode.

MINIPHYSIONIZER® 2.0 SMT
  • simple and small electrical generator
  • recommended for use in andrological and muscle and bone pathologies
  • powered by one battery of 9 V

  • two output cables, connected to the anode (CT-DAS® electrode) and cathode (dispersive electrode)
  • it generates a low-intensity electric current that enhances the delivery of the ionised drug molecules into the underlying tissue
CT-DAS® 500 Ag
  • PVC NO DEHP transcutaneous electrode
  • volume of 5 ml
  • concave in shape
  • double-sided adhesive part that vvallows it to be applied to the skin
  • a small hole at the top, through which the drug solution can be inserted with a syringe
  • a silver conductive element present
  • non sterile single-use electrode
DISPERSIVE ELECTRODE
  • made of a stainless steel grid embedded between the layers of nonconductive, absorbing cellulose foam
  • placed on the skin to create a low-current circuit between the current generator and the transdermal electrode

Patient preparation for treatment of Peyronie´s disease with EMDA® system

Step 1

Thoroughly degrease the inner thigh area with alcohol where the dispersive electrode will come in contact with the skin.

Step 2

Apply a layer of conductive ECG gel (3 mm) on the degreased area.

Step 3

Soak the dispersive electrode in saline solution and place it on to the layer of conductive gel.

Step 4

Remove the protective film from the adhesive part of CT-DAS transdermal electrode and place it on to the affected area (plaque).

Step 5

Inject the drug solution (5ml) into the CT-DAS transdermal electrode with the round tip syringe. The conductive part inside the CT-DAS must be fully covered with the drug solution.

Step 6

Once the drug solution has been placed into the CT-DAS transdermal electrode, connect the adapter. Connect the red cable electrode with the adapter placed on the transdermal electrode and the black cable electrode with the dispersive electrode placed on the skin of inner thigh. Both cables are then connected to the Miniphysionizer generator.
