Peditrol

A simple solution to a complaex problem

“Peditrol puts me in control of irrigation, and I am best able to determine at what rate the flushing should continue. Since it is foot-operated, the system leaves my hands free and available to perform the ureteroscopy and stone fragmentation without having to worry about unpredictable bursts of irrigation fluid, which is uncontrollable if the nurse operates a hand device for irrigation.”
— Dr Roger Mierzwinski

Peditrol is a foot-operated irrigation system for ureteroscopy which emphasises functionality, whilst disregarding anything that detracts from it. With perfect irrigation control – as fine as one drop, this hands-free concept ensures great visibility, and improves the ease and safety of procedures.

Recognition of very low compliance of the human kidney as well as limitation to fluid drainage from the renal pelvis lead to the design of a system that limits the irrigation bolus size, avoids forced continuous irrigation, and limits the overall amount of fluid used during a procedure. The system provides a safer method of irrigation, allowing the speed and force of bolus delivery to remain under the constant control of the surgeon.

The intermittent nature of the fluid delivery allows time for drainage between boluses, ensuring control of intrarenal pressures. The maximum bolus volume is limited to below 3ml, preventing hyperdistention of the kidney while providing perfect visibility.

With a robust and minimalistic design Peditrol stands out, both in function and form, as a hands-fee concept with maximal volume control, and an unobtrusive presence in the operating room.

Smart Bulb

Comfortable and intuitive

“I am impressed with the standard and look & feel of Smart Bulb. I also appreciate the added extension, especially during long procedures.”

— Dr Dookhi

Smart Bulb is a hand operated irrigation device that does exactly what it promises – precise delivery of irrigation on demand.

Uncomplicated and responsive, the Bulb fits comfortably into the operator’s hand. So small, in fact, that it can be easily operated with only two fingers. Designed with consideration of superior comfort and fatigue-free operation, the bulb is made from super soft thermoplastic resins, yet without the environmentally undesirable plasticizers.

The Smart Bulb is also offered with extension tubing should the urologist decide to entrust irrigation to the assistant.

In Flow Switch

For seamless disconnection of the Smart Bulb from uretrorenoscope irrigation can be stopped by simply using the In-Flow Switch. Placed exactly at the disconnection point preventing spillage of irrigation fluid and improving workflow.

“I am happy with the feel of Smart Bulb and its ergonomic design”

— Dr Chetty

Mini Pillow

Comfortable and intuitive

“Overall, I think Mini Pillow is brilliant. It is best appreciated with flexible ureteroscopy where it just feels part of the handle of the scope! Pressure does not seem compromised. I had to do huge uric acid stones (dust!) and I was happy with visibility. With the rigid ureteroscope, there was no problem with pressure, either. Personally, I would be happy [with] this device”
— Dr Dean Munks

Mini Pillow is a hand-operated, miniaturised irrigation device designed with simplicity in mind.

Its small dimensions and low fluid holding capacity offers the highest comfort and lowest weight among hand-operated irrigation devices.

The low maximal displacement volume provides additional  safety against unwanted spikes of intrarenal pressure, and the flat shape of the pumping unit requires little force for activation, preventing fatigue.

Extra  extension tubing is included for comfort ,  should the urologist decide to entrust irrigation control to the assistant.

In Flow Switch

For seamless disconnection of the Smart Bulb from uretrorenoscope irrigation can be stopped by simply using the In-Flow Switch. Placed exactly at the disconnection point preventing spillage of irrigation fluid and improving workflow.

“I think the amount of irrigation fluid per flash is an appropriate amount. Your hands will not get tired. Since there is a switch, it is convenient for the surgeon to turn on / off the perfusion.”
— Dr. Tamiya, Japan

No-Bubble TURP

“Sometimes the most influential thing we can do is listen.”
— Bob Burg

The No-Bubble TURP is both a work of details and an exercise in problem solving. It is the result of input from a number of experienced urology nurses, and their shared frustrations during the TURP procedure. Upon consideration of the nurses’ common issues, we implemented what we had learnt and created a product that seamlessly addressed these problems and greatly improves the TURP procedure.

Made of extra soft material, the tubing rests snuggly on the drapes and the drip chambers are effortlessly filled. The spikes are positioned close to the bag for easy deaeration, and both lines are clearly colour coded and easily separated allowing for the pinch clamps to be moved just under the drip chambers. This makes it easily visible when patients undergo continuous bladder irrigation in the post-operative period. The colour coded pinch clamps are large enough to be opened and closed using only one hand, and are placed in the sterile field during operation to allow the scrub nurse or surgeon to change from one irrigation bag to another without interrupting the procedure or the need for the circulating nurse’s intervention. The roller clamp is made extra-large so that it slides smoothly and easily. A short silicon tube, which connects to the resectoscope, is designed and treated to disconnect easily from the step down connector. And of course, the drip chambers are equipped with kinetic energy dispersers to reduce the number of bubbles that enter the set during rapid irrigation. The entire set is made of DEHP-free material to reduce the impact of disposals on the environment.
